Tommy Caldwell is widely regarded as one of the world’s best big-wall climbers, best known for freeing the Dawn Wall, along with Kevin Jorgeson, in 2015, following seven years of effort. Adam Ondra, the world’s top competition climber, repeated the Dawn Wall in 2016, in less than a month.

“Before going to Yosemite, I did like four pitches in my life on trad gear,” said Ondra, laughing.

Caldwell and Ondra discuss how Ondra dealt with his inexperience climbing big walls, plus the upcoming Olympics, training, and more.
