Théo Langlois, 30, needed only one attempt to get this first move…

Langlois, from Coutances, Normandy, France, has been a routesetter for the past seven years. He is a French Bouldering Championship finalist and French Team training partner.

“I hope that one day I’ll have the honor to wear the French jersey in an international comp,” he wrote to Gym Climber. Langlois also climbs outside—he’s put down up to 8b (V13) in Fontainebleau, his local crag.

“I tried this boulder at least 20 times,” he wrote, adding that the top was quite hard to unlock. “The key was opening my mind to try beta … When I found my own way, I only needed three attempts to top.”

Happy Friday!
