“It was nice to get back on some comp-style boulders this week! It’s good to see my coordination is still there but I’ve definitely got a lot to work on,” wrote Colin Duffy on Instagram.
At just 16-years-old, Duffy took the Pan-American Championships by storm last February to earn his Olympic berth. He told Gym Climber that he didn’t set his heart on Olympic possibilities until just a month prior to that when he took second place at the Combined National Championships. To many, Duffy’s win might have come as a surprise, but Duffy is no dark horse. He’s won Youth Worlds twice and has nine Youth National titles. Since he started climbing regularly at age 7, he has trained on Team ABC with fellow Olympian Brooke Raboutou.
Happy Friday everyone!
