“It took me about eight to ten solid attempts before I was able to do the entire rotation,” said Sara Mitschke of her stick challenge. She’s been practicing the maneuver since injuring her shoulder. Mitschke has been climbing for three years and competes with Texas State University at collegiate competitions. Her advice for nailing the challenge:

“Tightening the core will help with the transition when trying to bring the knee to the ground. Take it slow and try not to rush at the end. I dropped it a few times at the very end because I got excited. This is a great exercise for anyone to try but it’s especially fun when recovering from an injury. It helped take my mind off of not being able to climb.”
