Tomoa Narasaki (JPN) recently secured his ticket to the 2020 Olympics for Sport Climbing. Narasaki started his career at age 10 after watching his older brother practice at a local gym. Ten years later, he made waves in the community after winning his first Bouldering World Cup and then winning the Bouldering World Championships in Paris. Since then, he has ranked first or second in the Overall Bouldering season each year and has snagged a handful of gold World Cup medals. After winning the Combined World Championships in Hachioji, Narasaki wrote on instagram: “My 2019 result is only a turning point. I have one year to make [get] stronger and to become Tokyo2020 Gold medalist.”
