The climbing industry has seen explosive growth in recent years, with both the number of gyms and gym memberships increasing. In an attempt to better understand who is joining the climbing scene and for which reasons, the Climbing Wall Association (CWA) and researchers from The University of Utah and Clemson University have released a survey in partnerships with 170 climbing gyms from the US and Canada.

“We are thrilled to be conducting the CWA’s first-ever Indoor Climber Survey,” said Laura Allured, marketing and communications manager at the CWA. “This is a milestone in the development of our industry and will provide invaluable insights into the community that we serve as climbing gyms.”

Not only will the survey examine why people go to indoor gyms, it give surveyees the opportunity to comment on things they wish their local gym could do better. It will also examine who isn’t currently part of the indoor climbing demographic.

Complete the survey and receive a 25% coupon valid at one of six gear manufacturers (CAMP, Butora, Maxim, Edelrid, Wild Country or Black Diamond).
