The second Speed World Cup of the season kicked off early this morning in Villars, Switzerland. Nearly a 100 athletes participated, including a handful of Olympic qualified athletes. Moving onto the final round, which takes place tomorrow, July 2, at 1pm MDT, are three Americans: Emma Hunt in eighth, Noah Bratschi in 13th, and John Brosler in 15th. Several Olympic-bound athletes will also advance, including Iuliia Kaplina (RUS), Anouck Jaubert (FRA), Janja Garnbret (SLO), and Rishat Khaibullin (KAZ).

Unsurprisingly, world record holders Kaplina and Veddriq Leonardo (INA) advanced in first and second, respectively. Former world record holders Kiromal Katibin (INA) and Reza Alipour Shenazandifard (IRI) also advanced in top positions (first and third). After Leonardo and Katibin both broke the world record in Salt Lake City a few weeks ago, eyes will undoubtedly be on them, as well as the other Indonesian athletes who have advanced (seven in total).
