Incredibly beautiful footage here from Tim Thompson of Lucie Hrozová climbing ice on the Matanuska Glacier, Alaska.
Hrozová made the first ascent of Saphira (M15-), in Vail, Colorado, in 2016. She later told Rock and Ice, “Saphira is really long, so you can spend like two hours on it in the beginning. And you get really cold. Everything is frozen. I was kind of scared because, if you want to climb it, there are some spots where you can’t clip the quickdraws because it’s too hard. So you have to skip some quickdraws.”
